Tom Short, a.k.a. "Vince Whirlwind", Malice, Vince Short, Vince Ballard and who knows what else, traveled the country living off his ability to create technically amazing art.
His cartoons inspired many artists along the way who recognized his ability to stand toe-to-toe with more well known (and well paid) artists.
He chose to live a nomadic life which fueled his pen as it allowed him to see all types of people. Once arrested for, "willfully and maliciously obstructing pedestrian traffic" in the 60's, Vince always had plenty of material available to him simply by living the life that he lived.
He will be remembered by all who took on the difficult task of getting to know him, as a terrific artist and a wonderful friend. You'll be missed, bud!
